The Salt Lake Valley Health Department (SLVHD) continues to improve its emergency response capacity by planning, training, exercising and working with partners and municipalities throughout the county.
The SLVHD Emergency Management Bureau takes the lead within the department and involves all health department staff through planning, training, drills and exercises.
The health department follows the principles of Emergency Management: to plan for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate natural and manmade emergencies and disasters.
Our goal is to do the most good for the most people in the shortest amount of time.
Family Preparedness
The SLVHD urges each resident of Salt Lake County to prepare for emergencies and disasters by creating a family emergency plan and assembling 72 hour kits.
